Module 2 - Seeds of Faith

Part 1:  The Good Samaritan

6.png

To start off this module, watch the Good Samaritan video above!

True or False?

We know how much God loves us and that He shows his love through Jesus. We know we can show God how much we love him. Now we are going to talk about how we can love one another.

True or False?
These are some ways that you can love as Jesus loves:

  1. Listening to your parents (T or F)

  2. Refusing to play with someone at recess for no reason (T or F)

  3. Make a get well card to people who are sick or alone (T or F)

  4. Ignoring my dad when he asks me to get my shoes on (T or F)

  5. Donate food or clothes to help people who are without (T or F)

  6. When someone hurts your feelings, say “I forgive you” (T or F)

  7. Hide the remote so nobody finds it so you can be in charge of what's on TV (T or F)

  8. Telling others how much you love them (T or F)

  9. Pray for others (T or F)

  10. Parents... are you on a roll? Make up your own!

We can be a good Samaritan every day!

Think about what it means to be a Good Samaritan for others.  Jesus asks us to help, share and forgive others.

Have your child keep track (with your help) of what daily act of love or service they did for the next 7 days.

Either at the end of the day, or when you identify a good action, have them write down what they did that day in the square for that day on the calendar provided.

At the end of the week, see how many Acts of Love they have done. Maybe other family members would like to join in as well!

Part 2:  Jesus Forgives a Sinner

Watch the Video & Discuss Together!

  1. In what way did Jesus show his love to Zacchaeus?

  2. Why were the other people not happy that Jesus was going to Zacchaeus’ home?

  3. How do you forgive?

  4. In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus tells us how to forgive. Read together the Lord’s Prayer and talk about how it tells us to forgive. (Forgot the prayer?  It's at the bottom of this page!)

Prayers to try & to learn!

The Lord's Prayer

Hail Mary

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you
among women,
And blessed is the fruit
of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Prayer of Praise

Act of Contrition

Glory be to the Father
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit;
As it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,

world without end.
Amen.

Jesus Christ,
Son of the living God,
Have mercy on me, a sinner.
OR
Dear God,
I am sorry for doing wrong.

Please forgive me all my sins.

I know you love me very much.

Help me to love you in return and care for others as you do.
Amen.

You're all finished module 2!
